Valentines

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. Ive been pouring over these beautiful historical puzzle purses, folded paper puzzles often sent on valentines day with concealed messages of love. They are highly decorative and are full of images from nature.

I wanted to make my own to accompany the little Love bugs I made for Valentines day this year. I filled it with flowers, and stories and memories of being a child and discovering a beautiful beetle with markings like little love hearts.

You can hide additional little love tokens inside the puzzle purse - The printable comes with a little packet of geranium seeds to cut out and fold, it has details of some of the flower symbolism of geraniums and you can add extra messages, or perhaps some real seeds to grow in there too.

the love bug matchbox that is part of the printable also has room for secret little love notes and messages, cut out the little bugs, glue the two sides together and stick on the folded love-heart wings, when unfolded there’s room for a little love message to someone special.
